My Review Policy

Please note that I am from the UK.

Before you read further, thank you for taking the time to look into my review policy. If you want to contact me further, please email me at alifeofliterature@ymail.com and I will be sure to get back to you.

I admit I'm probably not the best 'book reviewer' in the world and I don't analyse a book in huge depth when I read it - I prefer to leave that to the professionals.  A full analysis is too much like work and as soon as I have to work at reading a book I lose one of the best things about reading; the enjoyment and ease of losing myself in another world.

My reviews are of my own opinions, thoughts and feelings on novels and are therefore very likely to be subjective and so less analytical.  Furthermore, I will always be honest in my reviews.  If I enjoy a book I will always mention this, likewise if I find that I don’t enjoy a book I will say so.  I will never be mean in a review, if a novel has left me with an overall negative view I will explain why, but I will always strive to find an aspect or two that I did like.

Accepting books to review.

I am always happy to receive books to review on this blog*.  Saying that, I will not accept unpublished work.  I am able to read both physical copies and e-books.

As you may notice most reviews on a life of literature are of Young Adult novels.  Within this category I enjoy reading pretty much any genre, paranormal/romance/mystery, etc.

In terms of Adult Fiction I am also happy to receive novels of this category although I am slightly more picky.  The main genres of Adult Fiction that I am interested in are:

·         Romance
·         Chick Lit
·         Crime, Thrillers & Mystery
·         Biography (if I am familiar with the person it is about)

I am also willing to accept a limited number of books for younger children too.

If I receive a book to review that is part of a series and I have not read any predeceasing novels I would prefer a copy of these to be included too.  This will just make it easier for me to read the book and it is likely to be more of a coherent review.

Please check the full list of the novels I have already reviewed here.

* I am also happy to receive novels to include in a giveaway.

Reviewing books.

If you have sent me a book to review I will try my best to do this as soon as possible.  However, because I am a full time student at university, this and my life outside of the internet world has to take the front seat.  Therefore, whilst I will try to read the book and upload my review in a timely manner I cannot guarantee that this will be the case.  If the novel is an ARC I will try to post my review around about the same time as the title’s publishing date, but again I cannot promise this.

Disclosure.

I do not receive/accept any money for the reviews that I give of purchased books or books received otherwise.
